Dear friends,
Thank you for a truly beautiful offering to worship today. Your offering was not just the pieces you sang or the sound you made. The offering was you-- the gift you are-- your spirit. The congregation can feel when you truly and completely offer that gift, and God receives it with open arms and a grateful heart, I am sure. Particularly moving was the array of colour with which you painted the beautiful words of the Vaughan Williams piece, bringing so many distinct spiritual truths to life and to light. I just listened to the recording from the 10:30 service, and I can not believe we are only 3 weeks into our choir season. You are already so connected, so unified, and so committed. My prayer is that we can remain forever this way-- let's not stop here. Each time we sing is a commencement-- a new beginning of all that we can become. Let's continue our path towards singing with more passion, fervor, hope, peace, love, warmth, richness, beauty, commitment, sensitivity, grace. Come again on Wednesday, please. The journey continues...the dance goes on. It just doesn't work without you-- not your sound but your spirit. We need each of you to be our most beautiful and most complete.
I hope you have an opportunity this evening to sit in your easy chair today, to look out at the lake, to read a favorite book, look at some favorite photos, gaze at the moon, or to hold someone you love. Treasure the peace that comes from an open heart, a gentle smile, and a warm embrace. I will spend some time now giving thanks and offering a prayer for you. You are-- each and all-- a treasure. God has been so good to share such a treasure with me today.
Grace and peace,
TT
