Dear friends,
It is amazing to think back a few days to how warm and sunny it was when Alice Parker was here with us. While it may be a meteorological coincidence, I am certain that God orchestrated our joyful, inspiring weekend. What an absolute gift it was to share all of this with you. It was truly a dream come true! These last few days, being home, I have been grateful to have the opportunity to process and reflect upon the richness of our encounter with Alice Parker in rehearsal, the workshop, the Community Sing, our Children's Choir festival, the St. Olaf Choir's amazing performance, and our extraordinary Sunday morning services. Many people probably go an entire lifetime without ever experiencing this much, and we got it all into just a few days! What a blessing! We are so indebted to the wonderful clinicians, to the many volunteers who helped with logistics, and, particularly to Jeremy and Becky for making sure the weekend was so successful. Thank you all!
It seems like God is now orchestrating another quiet evening for us. We will NOT have rehearsal tomorrow evening (Wednesday). I think it is wise for us to play it safe again this week. The temperatures are just so bitter cold, and there is so much ice and wind that we will postpone our rehearsal. I will be happy to offer a make-up rehearsal for any and all who are available on Sunday afternoon, February 6, from 1:00 to 3:00. Please note that we do not sing this Sunday morning as the University Singers come to lead worship. We have a lot of new projects to begin working on, though, and it would be a shame to lose any of the momentum we gathered last weekend. Hope to see many of you Sunday afternoon!
Grace and peace, and many warm blessings...
